The project proposal aims at strengthening cooperation among partners from Spain, Italy, Palestine and Tunisia in the framework of the previous Euromed Girl Power project, extending it to partners from Greece and Libya.
Starting from the analysis of the Euromed Girl Power project and considering the feedback from the participants, the centrality of the topic of gender equality and communication and the need to develop more profound actions was identified. Therefore, based on a needs analysis, it was decided to continue the cooperation even more concretely, focusing on the theme of communication and media, indispensable elements that shape society’s conception of the surrounding reality.
The proposal aims at strengthening communication skills of youth workers for the promotion of female empowerment and fighting against gender inequality.
Specific objectives of the project:
Objective 1. – Organize a 7 days training course on gender-sensitive communication approach for 24 youth workers and communication experts already working in the field of communication. The training will improve skills of participants on gender inclusive communication that they will be empowered to use in their daily work.
Objective 2. – Provide an opportunity for the participants of the course to spread the knowledge they acquired on local level: through local workshops and an online dissemination activity on the topic. Participants will be supported in designing local activities that will allow them to experiment what they learnt during the activities.
Objective 3. – Create an educational programme on gender-sensitive approach in media and communication and consequently massively disseminate it.
